I'll be scarce today. I am working on a pool party for an old client. Don't worry there won't be any swans:)

For the past 20 years or so, I've been obsessed with wooden windows. I love old houses and when they are not taken care of or inappropriately remodeled, my heart hurts. Yesterday, my dad sent me the link to The Wooden Window and Door Company in Nova Scotia. On their website they say, " Putting vinyl windows on your old home will destroy it's soul." That is always what I've believed. Hop on over to see their beautiful craftsmanship.
I just picked up some of these fabulous lanterns from West Elm for a client. Online they are on sale for $19.99 but in the store they are $9.99! Perfect for a poolside party, huh?
I am trying not to post fall clothing because I just wrapped my head around the fact that it is summer now and I don't want it taken from me too quickly. But, these new goodies from Tucker were too good to pass up.
As Grace Bonney already mentioned, Mamma Mia is not just a fun musical, it's a visual feast. Call me crazy, but the styling seemed to have a very Swedish flair. The primitive space paired with all the turquoise and gorgeous textiles spoke straight to me. I love a good musical even if Pierce Brosnan is a little hard to believe whilst singing (the whole theater instinctively burst into laughter when he broke out into song the first time:)!
I am helping out with another granny birthday party in a few weeks. This one is for Rochelle. Liz from Linda and Harriett made the invitations and I think they turned out just grand! She printed the fabulous picture, hand wrote the invite and then stamped two big garden roses on it. Such a great idea for an invitation and it's budget friendly too.
Check out this local photo shoot by Ultra PDX with the March Fourth Marching Band. I think it looks pretty swell for a local shoot. Plus, I just love the March Fourth Marching Band.
I couldn't resist these anemones at the market this morning. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think flowers are prettiest in a big bundle, just being themselves and wrapped in newspaper.
Don't you just love her style? How fabulous is it that she is wearing leather sandals with her wedding dress yet still looks so glamorous? What a darling couple! See more pictures here.

Today I've been loving the music of Basia Bulat. Particularly this song.
I just spotted this sweet desk lamp at Urban Outfitters.

I love Greece and I love their sandals.

Everyone keeps asking me how I like "not working?". Um. I've been working like a crazy girl ever since I fled my cubicle less than two weeks ago. There are loads of things to get done but I am adoring my new way of life.
These roses are leftover from a wedding I helped Pam with over the weekend. I had so much fun! I forgot how much I love flower land. Plus, the wedding happened to be for a Frolic! reader which made it extra special:)
This is the only clean and calm corner of my home. I am trying to organize and simplify this week as I continue to finish work projects. My goal is to discard most of my clothing closet and most of the other walk-in closet that is supposed to be my office. I'll let you know how it goes.
P.S. Thank you, Elizabeth Dye for your fashion tips last Friday! Hopefully I'll take them to heart ( I really need them!) You can find all of Elizabeth's tips on the left column under Guest Bloggers, Elizabeth Dye.
Diana Vreeland said “Elegance is refusal.” Clothes are so affordable
and abundant these days that we fall in and out of love with them too
easily. Resist buying armloads of cheap trends. Cultivating a life long
love affair with a few well-made pieces is better for the environment,
for your wallet, and for your soul.

If, like me, you have almost zero time to think about what to wear, create multiple versions of an outfit you love. Design a “uniform” that makes you feel well dressed and comfortable all
the time. Einstein kept his thinking clear by filling his closet with
identical suits.

Wear more color! Especially during the Northwest’s grey, wet winter and
spring, we need bright reminders of the summer to come. Invest in hot
pink and yellow. Think of it as therapy. Color also shows confidence
and that you don’t take yourself too seriously.

If your shoes are perfect, you can wear a burlap sack. Put your dollars on your feet.

Break the rules: wear white shoes after Labor Day, black to a wedding, shorts with heels, whatever makes you feel confident and happy. As long as your hair is combed and your navel covered, no one is going to issue you a dress code violation.

Today, Elizabeth Dye will keep you company with her fashion tips. I hope you enjoy and I'll be back here on Monday.
I love goodies in my mailbox! I've been running around like a madwoman this week so it's been great to come home to a mailbox full of fun stuff (there were probably bills in there too but I try to ignore those). The Wiksten Look Book arrived today. And among other things, I received the Polaroid book . It's delightful. You should buy one.
These two have the right idea.
